Use Stock Valuation for Actual Costs on Jobs and Orders
10 September 2026
When adding actual costs to a job or order, you can now choose to use an item's stock valuation instead of its list cost.
Recording actual costs against a job or order just became more accurate. Instead of always using an item's list cost, the account can now use the stock valuation when actual costs are added. This means the cost recorded reflects what the stock was actually valued at, giving a truer picture of profitability on each job. It's a useful option for businesses that want job costing to align with real stock values rather than a standard list price, helping you report margins with greater confidence.
Change this setting in the Cog -> Financial Settings -> Job Cost Settings.
