Zigaflow vs Odoo: every module exists, but you assemble it

Odoo has Sales, Purchase, Inventory, Invoicing, Project and Manufacturing for £18 per user a month, and it is genuinely cheaper than us - the cost shows up in assembling six apps, in margins that are off by default and read a static product cost rather than the purchase order, and in a UK delivery model built on partners.

Cheap licence, assembled system

Odoo is the strongest competitor on this list and the honest comparison is not about capability. Everything you need is in there. The question is who does the assembling, and what the margin figure is actually reading. Every row below was checked against the vendor's own product and pricing pages on 10 September 2026. A cross means the capability is not described anywhere on those pages, not that we tested the product and it was missing. Prices are the ones published that day and several are promotional, so check them before you decide.

Margins are off by default

Odoo's own documentation says margins are not enabled by default: you turn on a Margins checkbox in Sales settings, and even then the columns stay hidden until you add them from the order-line column picker. Most buyers do not know the setting exists.

The margin reads the product cost, not the PO

Once enabled, Odoo computes margin as sale price minus the product's Cost field times quantity. That cost is a static field on the product, not the price on the purchase order you actually raised for this job - so on a job where the supplier quoted you something different, the margin is wrong.

Six apps and a partner

Sales, Purchase, Inventory, Invoicing, Project and Manufacturing are separate apps you configure into a workflow. Odoo's UK route to market is 40 listed partners and a "Meet an advisor" button, so the licence is cheap and the implementation is the real cost.

The margin reads the purchase order

Zigaflow puts the supplier cost from the actual purchase order on the line. When your supplier reprices, the margin on the job moves with it - no product cost field to keep in step by hand.

Where Odoo is genuinely better

Odoo is cheaper per user, has far more modules - accounting, HR, POS, ecommerce, manufacturing - and can be extended in ways we cannot match. If you want one vendor for the whole company including the ledger, and you have someone to run the project, Odoo is a serious answer.
